It's easy, top center panel just pops off when pulled at the top by the window, the rest you removes the screws (6 screws I believe) and remove by popping the top edge out.
That do it for you?

Allright well i have found a del sol Vtec model which is what i have been lookin for, and it is under my price range by about a grand, so im gonna use that money for audio. So i was wondering. Car the storage compartments behind the seats be removed and how hard is it? Cause ive seen them out in a couple sol's so they can fit subs behind the seats. Thanks alot

Has anyone seen a small sub install to the storage compartments? I was looking at this:

I have seen that model on ebay for half that price. It does list all the dimensions in the description. I don't think it will fit in the storage bins.....but I want to see if I can install one underneath the passenger seat. Not sure if there's enough room under there. Probably sometime this weekend I am gonna pull the seat out and take some measurements.
Amazon has it for 149 through a vendor, but the Crutchfield link has better info. Also see the JVC one on Crutchfield which is designed to fit under a seat. I'm going out to the car to look now.

looks like even the 6" won't fit in the compartments or under the seats which have very little clearance. I just looked at the rear of the seat on the floor and didn't remove the seat or look harder at the front portion. It just doesn't seem to have 2.5"
It's a maybe on the sloped vertical surface behind the seats, and the kenwood won't fit anywhere but the trunk.
This little thing could maybe sit on the hump between the compartments, but then it would be exposed/stolen

depending on how tall you are. Pioneer makes a "flat" subwoofer in 10" and 12" sizes. Those are basically meant to fit into truck boxes that generally sit either behind the seats in a truck or underneath them. Most truck boxes are a few inches wide on the bottom and get thinner as they reach the top portion of the box. Thats realistically the only way i can figure getting decent bass inside the cabin without doing any serious mods.
Actually....i cant remember where i read it from but someone from SOME forum put a sub into his seat. Said it made a very good back messager and sound quality was O K...but...i'd be more worried about the sub getting too hot and causing some kinda spark.
That was A.Oster who did that subwoofer in the seat deal. Drives the samba sol. He showed it to me at the Maltby meet but I didn't really get a chance to hear it. I am almost tempted to mount speakers into the lids of the back console and when they are closed they would become the subwoofer box.
As I was typing this out at first I was just joking but now I seriously wonder if that would work???
Wha Wha Wha? I easily got two 10"s to fit behind my seats in a custom sub box. Check out the old pics in the picture section under Thomas with the red del sol. Personally i think the stealth box is the way to go. Nice fit, stock look, and excellent sound.
BTW i still got the old box for sale if anyone wants it...keep in mind you wont be able to recline and if you are any taller than 5'6" it is not recommended.
